Alright... I'm working with a client for web development... they are being found by most SE; however, Google does not. I researched a bit, and found out they are linked to at least 20 link farms. <sarcasm>I'm guessing being linked on a porn site probably does not help. </sarcasm>

Obviously, their previous vendor wasn't very helpful in the quest to attain good ranking. How do we get them off all these pesky sites???

Hi,

I've always beleived it's not about who links to you, but who you link to. Are you linking out to any "dodgy" websites?

Nope. In fact, there aren't any links to other sites at all... If I look at saturation at marketleap.com ... MSN and yahoo have at least 30 pages indexed and Google has 0.

Well, rather than play 20 questions :) why not tell what you know about the site (what details you can tell anyway).

If i cant help, im sure someone can....

The site is not indexed by Google at all. BUT, it shows up on Google India, as a sponsored link.
Additionally, it's in Google's Directory of sites, but shows up as 0 page rank.

The site's done in html, has decent content (non spammy) and is showing up in the rest of the search engines (save for AOL).

If it's not indexed by Google there must be something wrong..

It's a couple years old.

I know it would be helpful to see the site, but it's company policy not to post our business info online... I wish I could though.

We redeveloping the site and they are irritated that they aren't showing up in Google... I just can't figure this one out!

My main question here is, how do you get off of those link farms?

one thing I would suggest is building link popularity outside of those farms to make them a small % of your inbound link popularity.

many free for alls have a limited # of links on the sites and you may be able to drive your site off the list by adding links to other sites or fake sites.

PM the URL if you wish... I get to do this alot and can hammer out "most" is less than a minute (for Google).
