I just read Gary's article on Blinkx and I think we should discuss this further. From what I gather from the post Gary is suggesting that there is a really commercial idea behind the search engine. I don't think that's a bad thing though. Why would people develop a great new search engine, if there wasn't any money to be made out of it? I'd rather have a few ads coming up than actually pay for software. Also, as far as I know, commercials won't pop on Blinkx unexpectedly, there will be proper shopping channels you can click on if you wish to. As to Gary's point that blinkx's web is small- Blinkx is still in its Beta version but seems to be improving all the time. So maybe we should wait for a bit before we judge that side of things...I'm thoroughly impressed with Blinkx so far!

Has anybody else tried the new version 2 of Blinkx? My initial reaction is that it is very good.
