Prompted by some of the discussions going on in this part of the forum - I wonder whether we could get the name changed? Danny? Kal? Nacho?

"Multilingual search markets & non-US Engines" doesn't feel exactly right - just "Multilingual search markets" would be fine. Non-US search engines don't seem quite right because it's a negative - but also we end up talking a lot - still - about Google?

And whilst I'm on the subject - what's the chance of having the forum split geographically - Americas, Europe, Middle East, Far East?

We might just get more members from those zones that which would be very useful?

Cheers - Andy :D

I remember very well debating this before we launched the forum back in June. It used to be called "Beyond the US" and we decided that it was a bad name specially because there are many multilingual users within the U.S. that needed attention (eg. the US Hispanic Market and other ethnic cultures). Please let me take this back to discuss it with other moderators and we'll get back to you soon.

I will also take this back with me for discussion, but I have a feeling we don't have enough volume in this forum section to make so many divisions at this time. There has only been 35 new threads in this forum so far, and of those about 19 of them have been started by Moderators (that's more than 50%). So, short answer is YES, I know we will be spliting it into groups eventually, but I am almost sure that this is not justified today. I will let you know.

Any way, we thank you for taking your time to look at this in detail and be proactive about making our forum a better community. :)

Nacho thanks for that. I'd like to add that we also monitor forums in European countries - and in languages other than English - and I believe the volume question is a Catch 22.

If there was a clear area with a more European focus - then English-speakers who are active on some very busy European forums - could also be encouraged to participate. We'd certainly be pointing people in this direction where appropriate!

This must apply in other areas of the world too....by the way Aussiemaster made a point elsewhere that we should technically include Africa, South America and Australasia....

I remember in 'marketing' its called 'First Mover Advantage' when you're ahead of the game! Even if the volumes are not huge at the start - it's a start...

Cheers, Andy
