I am planing on starting a website and was wondering if anybody had any comments on what the minimum rate of getting links to a site would be. Basically the minimum to accomplish a decent ranking for relatively non-competitive phrases. Basically I'm both the SEO AND COPYWRITER which means that if I can cut some time out of link building I can spend more time on creating content. I expect to have a content based site which should attract links due to the value of the content. However "content so valuable that people want to link to it" is not worthwhile until you get some exposure to it. I'm secretly hoping that once I get a good ranking I can do little or no manual link building but until then... So what would people recommend for the optimal rate? Feel free to qualify your answers or put conditions/assumptions up.
I appreciate any responses I get because it will be quite important to me doing planning and getting an effective business plan up.
