Hi all,

im new, so go easy on me :)

I'm currently looking into using RSS to promote news content from two sites that I have.

One thing i think may be an issue is that some stories are used on both sites as they are closely related. The concern is the search engines will see this as duplicate content if i offer rss from both sites.

Also

How do the search engines know that I’m using an RSS feed rather than displaying duplicate content on my website?

and how do the search engines identify 'the source' of the RSS feed?

your help much appreciated!

thanks
merle.

That is a great idea, Merle! FeedFetcher can help with that but it's important to tag your feeds properly.

Believe it or not some duplicate content exists online. As long as duplicate content is not seen as being "malicious" you should be OK.
