If you optimize your website for Google.com or aol.com, for example, is your site automatically ranked similarly in google.au or aol.uk or any other international search engine?

I have a site that receives a decent number of hits from these international search engines, and I wanted to know if there is anything "extra" I should be doing to maximize my rankings on these search engines.

"Local" sites get boosted, so links/anchor text from "local" sites will help...

Bear in mind "web search" results on G.com from the US are as regionalised as they are on G.co.uk
