I host and market 3 sites that are all related one of the services they offer I am having problems with. The lowest ranking site out of the 3 has a sub page for a particular service ranking number 1 in Google with the applicable keyword but the other two sites don't rank very well with that service they are on pages 5 and 8 and they are the homepages not the sub pages.

I have analyzed these sites inbound links and the quality of links and the two that aren't ranking have a lot more relevant high ranking links than the site ranking number 1. All the sites are optimized very well with h1s in that keyword etc the only difference with the sites is that the site ranking number 1 is a bit older, the other two went live about half a year afterwards.

Could this do with two sites are hosted on the same IP and they are extremely similar so could Google be penalizing them?

I have optimized and created these sites and I haven’t done anything different could they be too similar?

I no this sounds extremely confusing but I would rather not give away the site details and so on

Im not sure I think it might just be a Google glitch at the moment I have tried everything and nothing has worked I am going to leave it for a while cheers anyway.
