View Full Version : Poor performance on Google

Hi everyone,
I'd appriciate any help on this subject:
Our website has been redesigned recently: new structure, new urls, new pages, only domain name kept unchanged. All of the old urls were 301 to the HP (Since there weren't many incoming links to these pages). The site was launched a month ago and was indexed in all 3 major SEs (and still is). HP PR=5, inner pages PR=0.
The problem is this: The site is performing very poorly in G (even for specific products' names) except for a couple of search terms from the HP which are doing well. In the meantime it is doing extremely well in MSN for various search terms. I've got no explanation for this.
As far as I know, if there is no domain change – then there's no sandbox effect. And to the best of my knowledge, it is not likely that PR=0 of inner pages interferes to this extent with page's performance.
Any suggestions on possible causes?

Thank you,
Michbit.

Are your product level pages getting spidered / indexed ? Do they all have individual titles / descriptions ? Have you changed the navigation structure ?
How many clicks does it take to get to a product (search engine wise, no forms, javascript links etc.) Are you linking using good anchor text ? Is the new site of the same theme as the old ?

Hi SEOMalc,
Thanks for your reply.
My products pages have been indexed by G. and all major SEs. They all do have specific titles, descriptions, and relevant keywords in anchor text links pointing to them. Products pages are 1 click away from HP. Our site's navigation structure has been changed, but to an improved structure: most pages are now placed in the root directory. It seems as if everything should work fine, yet it doesn't...
Any ideas??
Thanks,
Michbit
