Last night I recieved an email from a google.com address that said I should fill out a form to receive more gmail invites. Great! No!

This email asked me to fill out a Web based form, with my gmail account and password. What surprised me is that it passed through the gmail filters.

Beware of this email and do not give out your gmail password. I have a picture of the email here (http://www.seroundtable.com/archives/000878.html).

Please be careful.

GmailRep, please confirm that Google will never ask you for your gmail password. And how did this get through the spam filter?

Never takes them long does it. Why they really want someone's password for, who knows. The things are a dime a dozen now. I'm having trouble giving the damn things away. Everyone's got them or not interested in them.

Anthony,

The gmail password is also the password for all Google properties. Groups, Answers, API, and other Google related password protected areas.

Just wanted to update you all on this. GmailRep contacted me directly via email and they are investigating the issue. Pretty quick.
