It switches almost daily between 3 and 4. I've done a search of multiple servers, and some are at 3 and some are 4. It's been doing this for a month or so. Any ideas what's going on? It shouldn't take that long to update all its servers if it's changing the pagerank, should it?
Thanks for any advice.

Do you have any volatile inbound links ?
If not, it may stabilise after the next main crawl (every 6-8 weeks).

I don't know of any volatile links. It's been rank 3 for years, but I've been working to add inbound links so maybe (hopefully) it's becoming a 4.

You are not just seeing?
domain/ --- pagerank 4
domain/index.php --- pagerank 3
where / and /index.php ofcourse is the same page, but google doesn't know that.

No, I don't think that's the case. I'm careful to use only the domain name.

My pagerank is changing virtually every hour too. Unfortunately it's going down -- from a 6 to a 5 (and a 6 to a 5, and a 6 to a 5 ...) I have no idea what's going on. Wish I did.
Think yourself lucky... have gone from a 5 to zero for three of our client sites. Others showing equally distressing results! Am hoping this is just "one of those things" which resolve after a few days... unless, is Google up to something...AGAIN!?

Even my sites too... from 6 to 4. Somepaes hit no page rank. I checked my sitemaps at google webmaster tools area, they all are showing medium or no page rank to my pages.

Is it effecting your rankings/ traffic ... the time you are spending on PR fluctuating, you would be better of working on improving your sites and getting more links

I hate to ask the obvious question but what tool do you use to measure PR? The google tool bar? How do you know you're getting an accurate result?

Yes. google tool bar you ca use.
or
Do a search on google 'google page rank checker'. you will see so many online tools to check your PR. Basically they get info from google tool bar I guess.
