Hi, I have already searched the forum for my answer but usually it's all to complicated for me to understand  . Could you please tell me which would be the best domain (purely for better search engine rankings)to use for say a London Apartments website from the following:

1. apartments-in-london.com
2. apartmentsinlondon.com
3. apartmentsinlondon.net
4. london-apartments.net
5. londonapartments.info
6. If you can thing of something that would be better than all five please let me know.

Thanks in advance,

James

The degree your domain matters for SEO purposes is debatable, though I'd say it matters more in MSN than either Yahoo or Google. From a purely SEO perspective, either domain with the hyphens would be best, since the hyphens turn each domain into actual keywords.

But from a user perspective, some hyphenated domains appear spammy and of lower quality, so you may want to choose a different option. A great SEO domain is useless if searchers see the listing and assume it's a junk web site because it looks like keyword-keyword-keyword.com.....

I agree with pleeker,

Two dashes in number one might appear spammy (to humans) ... I'd go with #4

PS: I'm not a fan of puny words like "in" - Google ignores them as so-called "stop" words anyway.

PPS: Why not a co.uk name?
