I am new here so forgive me if this has been asked before. (Yes I have used the search function) looked all over the Web can't find an answer:
Is there any way to help Google find a page that gives you a link for a limited amount of time?
A PageRank 8 web site has just linked to my struggling business. To top that off it is the Department home page on a.edu domain filled with relative keywords. The Department home page even has its own subdomain. (They are supporting a program that I am doing) Great news right?
Not really. You see it will only be up on the web site for the next 5 days or so. While this is a very high PageRank web site it is somewhat static. Therefore based on everything I've learned about SEO in the last year, I have no reason to believe that the Google spider will catch it before it is removed. I believe this for two reasons:
1) it is a relatively static page; it only changes once a week or so
2) it is not a high traffic web page nor popular as it relates only to a specific topic (of course this makes it all the more desirable for me)
Obviously if this was digg.com or something else it wouldn't matter, but with this kind of web site . . .
Is there anything that I can do to help Google find this web page and link before it is removed?
Having them extend the placement on the web page does not seem like a viable option.
Please help. I am desperate. It would be greatly appreciated.
