A while ago, I thought it was really important to find a 'niche'-topic. But in fact, finding a niche-TOPIC isn't all that important. If one is able to find a few niche keywords for the (sub-)topic, it's as good as if it was a niche-topic, right?

Of course both overlap somehow, because finding niche-keywords for a certain topic will normally lead to focussing on a sub-topic. But what i'm trying to say (or well ask;)) is, that the approach of breaking a topic one is interested in down into sub-topics and finding one with a not so competitive keyword-set, but relatively high-demand is just as good as finding a niche-'topic'.

Or am I wrong?

P.S.: For those who remember me, I was reading about hosting/domain registration today and am now *finally* looking to get a couple of domains registered, so no need to push me so i finally get into the water lol..

EDIT: I just noticed, that I forgot to take into consideration, that it also helps to look at the competitors sites and the top site for the search-term(s), not only keyword quantities...
