Here's one that has stumped Google and some really good web masters: How does one get an unresponsive search engine company to remove a link?

The dilemma: In 2003 my web master created a legit listing in CaliforniaFind.com for our site, SnowProperty.com. I was working for a company called Sierra Junction Realty at the time. In 2005 I went out on my own and named my company after my website. Last week it was brought to my attention that this old listing ranks #1 in Google when doing a search of Sierra Junction Realty, much to the dismay of the owner. Many attempts have been made to contact the search engine, CaliforniaFind.com to edit the listing, but the emails have been bounced back. There is no other contact info listed. They may be out-of-business. Google cannot remove the link without a court order. What is a gal to do?

The wild thing is that when you do a search of my former company, their site isn't even on the first page, but I'm all over it. How can I change this?

Many, many thanks for any suggestions you may have...
Krista

Looks like you have a link coming in to your snowproperty site, and the text of that link is:

"Krista Noreika - Sierra Junction Realty"

This link is from a DMOZ (http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/California/Localities/C/Colfax/) page.

If you can get the DMOZ to edit that link to snowproperty you should eventually stop showing up for "Sierra Junction Realty" searches.

Link your website to the website you want to replace in the SERPS. Don't forget to use the right anchor text for what your target is.

To make it even safer don't have any IBL's on the site you are trying to position. You could also increase the IBL's on the website you want to move higher and decrease/remove links to the website you dont want in the SERPS anymore.
