Is it worth paying Yahoo 300 US$ yearly, just to get a link on a page with a non guaranteed PR & outdegree.

Am I missing something here ?

In my opinion it is worth it. Not considering PR, Yahoo directory is a trusted source. It is one of the only directories that has a huge number of .org (non-profit) .gov (government sties) linking to it.
