Will it help my ranking for keywords or at least for bringing up my web site as a whole if I create duplicate pages in different languages? For example, if I have the very same content as I do in English, but I add it in Russian, Spanish, and French?

Even if my page does not rank for the main term, will it then rank for those terms in other languages?

Finally, would it help if I created those other pages in different languages under a sub domain, rather than a new directory on my current site?

Hi LawyerMike,

It is always a good idea to translate your web site in multiple languages if this is useful for your audience.

Do you offer your services in these countries as well? Do your customers speak any of these languages? If not, I don't see the point of creating pages in those languages just to rank high for your translated keywords if this is not bringing you any quality (read: converting) traffic.

If you can, I recommend getting country-specific domains for the different languages / markets you're approaching and ideally I would host these web sites locally (in the target country).
