Dear SEO Gurus

I was wondering if anyone could give me any answers regarding premium listings such as this...

Basically I was wondering how we can develop similar listings for our clients.

i.e. as well as there being the google listing we also have the main site pages listed below.

Is there an entry in the bot file or some way to put this in place?

Your suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks again

Cheers

Hi - they are called Sitelinks, and are determined algorithmically by Google

Hi Simon

There are a whole lot of reasons for snippets to show up. What I believe is the major factor is site traffic. Take a major traffic site you know and check them out, they all have snippets.

Mind you, it doesn't matter if a site is #1, it uses some criteria such as main domains. Let me site a few examples. Let's take myspace.com, now make a search on Google for "myspace", you will see the snippets, now try "myspace+uk", it's no more there, but it has a #1 result. Try and repeat the same for "apple", you will see the snippets again. Now try for "apple+uk", it's the same result again at #1, it does not mean that the UK domains are less visited, search for "ugc cinema" or "ugc cinema+dublin", you will see the snippets, :)

Now to verify this theory, check the traffic details of these sites at Alexa, and you will get a better picture. Compare the results with the results of some other #1 for their keywords as well, for example a search on "seo".

So, you may not be able to generate this for any of your client except directing tons of traffic across to you clients homepage. Then after a while Google will take note. Hope this gives you an insight to the algo, :)
