Hey, i need a little help.

I have been asked to SEO a big website but its been made by a company, anyone know how i go about this? I have done this many times before but with sites i have made locally not sites other companys have made.

(P.s sorry i couldn't find the correct forum for this post!)

Any help would be great!

- Dave :-)

You can get the login information and go in yourself and make modifications - that's one way. Or you can act in a consulting capacity, outlining what needs to be done and having their developers implement it. That's good if you're not familiar with the technology used and could "break" something.

I find it much better to be hands-on for on-the-page stuff so little tweaks can be done on an as-needed basis.

You're right, this isn't a Google topic - it's actually an outsourcing topic.

Thank you Marcia! :)
Login info? I am a programmer so i know all the codeing but surely i need access to the website files to work my SEO magic on it? which would require me to goto the company and work from there?
thats how i imagine it but it just doesn't seem ethical!

Wht would it be unethical to work from a client's office if they require it?

Thanks for the reply SuperZu :-)

Well say what if there offices were in America or Sweden? thankfully there only in London. So your saying i should just head over there office and work on the files from there? won't they think thats a bit rude? lol

I still don't understand why this is a problem at all. You can't just download everything to your computer and do it from home? I have worked for clients overseas for years and have never had this problem.

I'll happily do it from home, how do i download the files to edit them?
