Hi,

I have submitted my site (seoconsultant.in) at http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Promotion/Search_Engine_Optimization_Firms/S/ on 07-08-2005 and 28-03-2006. Last category update was July 11, 2006 BUT still my site not listed in the directory. I am not sure what I am doing or have done wrong in my site or during the time of submit the site.

In the past, category editor was there but at the moment NO editor is there.

I am a genuine website owner and I cannot learn without knowing the mistakes.

Please suggest...

Most probably the suggested site is still waiting for review. In some categories review times can take several years after a site is suggested. As you have already suggested the site twice there is no need to suggest it again.
If it is or will be rejected you will not get any notice. But you can determine yourself if your site is listable or not by reading the DMOZ guidelines (http://dmoz.org/guidelines/include.html).

Thanks,

IMHO, I fulfill the Dmoz guidelines and my twice submission time difference is more than SIX months, which I think is valid.

BTY, if my site still waiting for review then why bottom of the page of any particular category shows updated such & such date?

Because something changed on that page. Could be a site added, changed or deleted from the list. It certainly does not mean that all sites waiting in that category have been reviewed.

I am not sure if there is such a thing as 'site status', but if there is i doubt if you can obtain it so readily. When you submit your site you just have to check to see if it has been included in thier databas(Dmoz).

But, I think you mean 'PageRank'. You have to download the google toolbar/firefox browser toolbar. Depending on what operating system you use.

Any other word on this subject?. I am sure that pretty much what happens really.
On the otherhand, I can be mistaken

When submitting to the ODP, please make sure you do it by following the guidelines. Make the title and description adhere to the rules. If still confused, see listing examples on the page you are listing to. These are volunteer editors with busy lives. If you make their job easier by writing and submitting correctly, chances are the directory will accept your site faster. It is not a guarantee but it may go a long way.
