Hi,
I currently use a web positions software package that I'm unhappy with - the reporting function does not suit my Client (many properties, many keywords etc) and to be honest the interface isn't great.
What's the experience of anyone else? Which package would you recommend?
Cheers!

Hey Rob,
I've used Search Engine Commando and Web Position 4 (by WebTrends) - the former is simpler, the latter more complex, and to be honest seems to fit the description that you've given in terms of the reporting and the interface...
Have you tried Search Engine Commando? It's been a while since I've used it, but might be worth a try...

Cheers,
I'll test both I think just to make sure!

Best .... that word kinda bugs me on some grounds as its really general
Best at what?
AgentWebRanking.com
Gives the best Global search results and has the largest up-to-date database of any tool I have seen BUT... is week on presenting the data in a way that is easy to share online with clients
(Also uses fuzzy logic to allow better search results - search procedure that looks for exact matches as well as similarities to the search criteria, in order to compensate for spelling errors)
WebPosition Gold
Does well on NorthAmerican engines but lacks big-time on being up-to-date on anything outside of the US... presentations are good but are still a little heavy as far as sharing and ease of distribution goes.
Search Engine Comando
Ok... being honest here.. I found the tool to be cheasy, but its more of the fact that I learned on the WPG and was really proficient at AWR so when I came to SEC I had a whole bunch of theories in my head of how it should be done rather than accepting the tool for what it is
Once again I found it like WPG on its North American bias... but I liked the price and the fact that the presentations were good looking
I guess you have to balance price, presentation ability, file size for distribution and Global reach as variables on what you would consider being "The BEST" tool out there

I went and spent the money for IBP which I liked but then found out it limits which as I remember is no more than 10 different sites to track at a time. That REALLY stinks that they have a limit like that(especially to find out once you pay). I'd like to have software that tracks up to 100 different websites. It's a pain doing a few here and a few there and spending a whole day getting the reports we need.
Anyone know of free software that tracks up to 3 phrases for up to 100 websites???
Thanks!
