Im new to this forum, and to SEO for that matter, so I would really appreciate it if you can help me out with the following:

I was wondering what search engines think about the following "formats" and which do they prefer (or see as more SE friendly):

www.domain.com/keyword.html (page in root of domain)

or

www.domain.com/keyword/index.html (page in directory under root of domain)
